Intensive Workshop with Billy Kissa
From January 12th - 17th we will have the international established improviser Billy Kissa with us, who will teach an intensive workshop on a brandnew format called
"What a -Greek- Tragedy!"
There will be 6 full days of improv with a public performance at the end of the intensive!
There will be only 12 spots available for experienced improvisers from around the world!
What a -Greek- Tragedy!
Greek Tragedies keep inspiring us for centuries by teaching us about human nature and fragility. In this workshop I will guide you through the dramatic techniques of Greek tragedy, bold storytelling, heightened emotion and the power of the chorus. We will explore fate, hubris, and catharsis, summon the gods, and let the fates decide where the story leads! Let's embrace the tragic and the epic.
At the end of the course there will be a showcase, demonstrating the work we did and creating on stage an improvised Ancient Greek Tragedy themed play!
About Billy Kissa
Billy Kissa is a Greek actress living in Brussels, specializing in Improvised Theater. After graduating from the “Theater of Arts, Karolos Koun”, in Athens, Greece she started working as an actress in scripted theater, teaching and performing improv all over the world. She studied Meisner technique with certified teachers and taught improv and acting to adults and teens. Billy is part of the European Network for improvisers “The SIN”, one half of the duo show ECHO with Raschid Daniel Sigdi and director of the All Female Cast Show “Huntress and Healer” and the unscripted play “The Dark Age of Love”.
Challenging herself is one of her strongest qualities, with the last challenge being her very recent dive into the terrifying world of stand up comedy.

The workshop will take place at the Improtheater Karlsruhe, Gellertstrasse 12, 76185 Karlsruhe.

The workshop will run daily from Monday, January 12th until Saturday, January 17th from 10:00 - 16:00' including an hour of lunch-break.

There will only be 12 spots in this workshop for experiences improvisers

The Show will be on January 17th at 20:00' at the marotte Theater.

The price for the complete week will be 360€ for a total of 30 hours of workshop.
Application
Unlike our regular courses, the Intensive with Billy Kissa is not a "first come, first served" workshop, but rather an application based workshop. We want to give everyone an equal opportunity to participate and create a group that is both diverse and harmonious. Registration deadline: November 30th, 2025
